Beautiful Design, Smooth Operation, Classic Lamy

This pen has haunted me ever since I first laid eyes on it. I hesitated because I don't need another $100 plus pen. But I found myself in a store and I found a really good price and and and.. It followed me home. It is so cool. The shape feels great in my hand - a real writing instrument. And the Lamy style and smooth operation make you want to stare at it and click it, just for fun. The refill is the regular ball point refill (not my favorite M66 capless roller). That is to say, a really good refill for ball point ink. The only negative is the pen feels thick and bulky in your shirt pocket. That's why mine lives in the beautiful wood case it came in and sits on my desk.In love with great pens? This one qualifies.

Beautiful and not Precious

I saw this pen about a year before I bought it. The design stood out enough for it to stay with me, and when it came time to buy myself a present, I chose this.I have many nice pens...and don't write with any of them. They are too nice. It may make no sense to people, but it just happens. So I wanted a beautiful pen I could do the crossword with and scribble notes. One I would carry out with me happily, put in a bag, etc. This pen has worked well for that. It's beautiful and functional.Onto the description.It is far more comfortable and ergonomic than I had expected. It fits well in the fingers and my hand doesn't get tired or my fingers rubbed when writing with it for a long period.The finish doesn't scratch easily (mine hasn't scratched and I've dropped it on stone floors). The plastic has an interesting finish, but it does look plastic. It has the appearance of a cheaper pen, but is solid. However, it did surprise me that it didn't look as high grade (the ABS of the Safari looks much more polished).Opening and closing the pen feels really smooth. The pocket clip is quite lovely, with a great mechanism. I'm sensitive that I might rip it off if I shoved it in a jeans pocket, but I might just be oversensitive.The unique method of opening it to insert a refill? It's different, but this is not a selling point to me in any way. You use it once every six months?The presentation box is nice, but as I have said, this isn't a show pen for me, it's a functional one.In conclusion, I am very pleased with this pen and it is now the one I use most. It is fantastically designed, both aesthetically and functionality. If I lost it, I wouldn't hesitate buying this pen again immediately.
