Amazing Product, Does exactly what AEM says it will!

Let me preface by saying I am not a knowledgeable car guy. I bought this at the insistance of my buddy who is. I have seen a noted increase in MPG as well as my car running with a little more UMPH. I love this add-on and it only took me an hour to install. An hour install for a non-car guy is pretty good. I would highly recommend this intake and the brand AEM as they sell a great product! Came very well packaged and the powdercoat finish looks amazing. Makes the engine look very tough!

Installation could be more streamlined

I am an auto technician and have dealt with many air intakes. This system may be a great power addition (although not felt by me) but the installation process required removal of the left front tire and the fender liner. So every 5,000 miles when the filter needs to be cleaned, that process will have to be duplicated. I thought that was a little bit much considering there wasn't much of a power addition to the engine. As far as quality, I believe this to be on par with most aftermarktet intakes. It ships with all new band clamps and silicone sleeves for hookup.

it added a nice growl tot he sound of my car. perfect fitment: it can be used as a short ram intake and cold air intake, by removing the last pipe. And very easy to install.

Easily installed it came with step by step instruction with photos follow the instruction and you wont have to pay for someone to install it for you. It helps if you know car parts though and shipping was amazing it came fast and fast so no problem there. I would highly recommend this product. Plus it sounds amazing!!!!

In the end its worth it.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1LKOV0FPH5Q18 Bought this for my 2004 type S and am overall very happy with it.The installation instructions are surprisingly detailed in some portions, and completely lacking in other portions. (It jumps from removing the inner fender wall and taking the windshield washer bottle off, to the entire tube being installed already and mounting it in. (You route it through the wheel well if you were curious, but I found this out on my own.) As far as a cold air intake goes, the difficulty on this particular one is probably an 8 out of 10. It took me and a buddy about 5 full hours to get it done. (Probably 45 minutes of that was wasted time looking for tools) but it is a very in depth process as far as an intake goes.It does require cutting of the inner fender plastic on the drivers front wheel.(nothing crazy, I did it without even removing the fender plastic) It may be smart to have some extra fasteners at your disposal for when you accidentally break them in the process of removing the wheel well plastic. And if you're buying the intake for show you will be sorely disappointed. of the entire 24+ inch system, if you install it correctly you will have about 4 inches of visible intake, and the rest is hidden unless you really look for it. I was okay with this, because the paint these intakes are painted with is very fragile and I royally scratched the %@#$ out of my intake while trying to wiggle it into place.Performance wise, there is a very real difference in sound of the engine. If you're driving slowly and not really hitting the gas too hard, you're not going to be able to tell a difference, but if you hit the gas hard the engine has a very nice low growl to it. My friend compared it to my Suzuki650 which had a two brothers pipe on it. The car is not too loud at all, but definitely noticeable.Power wise, all I've really noticed is a bit more low end torque, which is what these cars seem to lack a little. So the torque before you hit the vtec is actually improved a bit. Also there is a much more noticeable sound difference when the Vtec kicks in.The only issue, that I see...The intake is very very low to the ground. It sits right behind the lower vents on your front bumper. About 12 inches off the ground. If you're worried about sucking up water, grab yourself an Injen HydroShield. That's what I did. If you're looking for something more showy and less performance (also a bit safer) check out the Injen V2.Overall very happy with the product.

Easy instalation....For a home Instalation...The Product itself looks really "Cool"....As of the Performance---There is a lot of "Extra Horse Power"-Sound of the Car is "Out of this world"I believe that it gives you more control over the engine.Allowing you to accelerate faster and have better quality of Compression "Engine Break" and it is definatly a Cool addition!!I have a 04 Civic 2 DR Black with 18" XKR Mags...Dropped as low as the car would allow...It's well worth the addition!!Thank you AEM for a Wonderful Product!

AEM one of the Best aftermarket intakes for RX8

I don't personally own this intake but know many folks that have this on their car. The AEM intake for the RX8 is one of the few aftermarket intakes that is well designed and actually increases performance (slightly) for the RX8. AEM designed and makes this intake for Mazda as the Mazdaspeed intake for the RX8. If you decide later to have a custom turbo kit created for your car this is one of the few intakes that can also be modified to bolt on to your turbo kit. I recommend this over the Injen intake or K&N typhoon V2. I personally have the Racing Beat intake on my RX8 and it's excellent but would also recommend the AEM.

Amazing CAI. Although no increase in speed and I have yet to find an increase in mpg, this thing makes a mean sound.Easy installation, shipped asap, and I highly recommend this over any other CAI for the RX8.

First cold air intake

Just got this yesterday and installed it last night on my 2000 Sunfire. I was a little skeptical about ordering because last time I ordered the short ram from AEM and it ended up not fitting correctly so all that work went to waste. However because of the great price Amazon had on this compared to Jegs I just had to jump on it especially with my nice tax return I got back. So I didn't think installation would be difficult but I was kind of wrong. Unlike the previous AEM system I ordered this one came with instructions and they were pretty well layed out and detailed and looking through it I saw there was alot of work to be done but not difficult tasks. Remove battery, jack car up, remove stock air system, remove windshield washer reservoir(which I didn't put back), remove wheel well cover, etc. My buddy was over to help but even so this turned into an almost two hour project. I'm sure it could have been completed alot quicker but we barely knew what we were doing. After install I didn't quite know what to expect on power and sound and was surprised at how loud and powerful of noise this thing makes when you hit the gas. Also definite noticeable difference in power. Not crazy, off the walls change but noticeable. I also noticed a dramatic change in lower engine temp. All in all good investment. I think this is well worth the Amazon price over Jegs and other prices. Also if your interested this came with an AEM, engineered to outperform, license plate frame and two decals.
