Crazy Americans

I am German, I like elegance and Porsches. BUT DAMN this is one sick sounding puppy. I installed this on my 1999 Chevrolet Blazer 4.3 Vortec. For a V6. . . it can't get much better than this. The exhaust is not particularly loud but then again this is only a day after I have installed it. The muffler has not yet been "broken - in". The sound is definitely different from stock though. It's deeper and has a richer tone. It is actually pretty close to a V8 at idle. Inside the truck, once you climb into the RPMS the engine noise starts to drown out the muffler. Outside the vehicle however, it is quite loud. I originally bought this due to its cheap price. I also wanted to reduce back pressure to put less strain on my engine and ultimately gain some milage (Gas prices are some S***). This cat back system also looks exactly like the stock exhaust once installed (except that it is new). Definitely sets your truck apart from other blazers and jimmys. Awesome buy, highly recommended for anyone wanting to add some prestine sound to their rear exit ;].

Nice sound

This product was purchased in conjunction with a Magnaflow 23455 Direct Fit Catalytic Converter (Non-CARB compliant) and gives my 1999 Chevy Blazer with the 4.3L V6 and automatic transmission a nice deep rumble.

dynomax on blazer

so i just put the dynomax exhaust on my 98 blazer (4.3 Vortex). The sound is no flowmaster but that's not what i was looking for when I bought the kit. I wanted something that would make my exhaust a little louder but not so loud that its all you hear when your driving down the high way. I would describe the sound as a mellow smoother rumble. Its definitely a noticeable difference from the stock exhaust. When the windows are up its quiet inside the vehicle. As far as installing the kit, the hardest part is taking off the old stock exhaust especially if your bolts are rusted. The kit does not come with the three bolts that connect the muffler pipe to the catalytic converter pipe. The only down side is that the kit fits on a little tighter than the stock (it isn't as loose or hang as low) because of that i am getting some rattling from where the exhaust is touching and rubbing/tapping the frame. I am still going to mess with it and try and loosen it up and give it some space.Overall I am satisfied and the exhaust is what i wanted. If you or looking for a loud deep throaty sound this is not the exhaust for you. BUT if you are looking for a little louder change from the stock, something that has a mellow smooth rumble here you go!

Great exhaust......

Very happy with this exhaust. The fit and finish are top notch. Depending on your jeep, getting the kit hooked up might be a little tricky.The sound is great. It is a little bit quieter than the Flowmaster 50 I had in there previously, but it still has a nice rumble to it. It has grown slightly louder now that it has about 5000 miles on it, but it is still quieter than the Flowmaster.The only con I can think of is that the exhaust tip sticks out a little to far. This can easily be remedied with a hack saw or a sawzall. Just take off 2-3 inches.

Great price and great exaust system!

1999 TJ Sport:Over $60 less than the local auto parts store price and delived to your door with Prime in one business day, can't beat it!.I strugged for an hour trying to get the tailpipe in place with the jeep on the ground before I hit google for tips.Here it is: Jack up the passenger side rear from the frame until the rear tire almost leaves the ground and thread the exaust pipe in from the rear. With the extra spacing it took a total of 5 seconds to thread the pipe over the axle and around the brake line. Lesson learned.I needed both rubber hangers but couldn't find ones on Amazon that "fit" the Jeep but bought Walker Exhaust 36221 Hardware-Insulator made for Chevy based only on the picture and they are a near perfect match.Doesn't sound like stock, and much better than no muffler at all! I like it!

Great Catback Exhaust

I installed this on my jeep wrangler about a month ago. It is not one of those annoying wake up the whole neighborhood type of exhaust, but it doesn't sound like a smart car either. It gives my 6 cylinder engine a nice growl. I don't know if it improves MPG's at all but it does give the jeep a bit more bottom end power. In theory this is a bolt on exhaust that should take about 1 hour to install.My installation took 4 hours but only because my previous exhaust had rusted to my catalytic convertor and most of the time was spent trying to cut it off without messing up the o2 sensor.I got it for $140- $75 rebate from Dynomax and for that price I can't complain. Highly recommended if you don't want to go around sounding like a rice rocket.

Great!

Really nice sound, really nice price (at least when I bought mine Summer 06).I was doing this for the very first time, it was a struggle to remove the old pipe, not as much for getting the new pipe in although it took a little while to figure out how to thread it through where it goes.I wound up at Home Depot buying an angle grinder with a cutting wheel at 10:45 PM. Save yourself the trouble, and secure a sawzall before you tackle this. Grind off anything you need to after that, but definitely use at LEAST an angle grinder.If I may, swap out your catalytic converter while you are down there. I had a professional do it after the fact, my sound was much better, my performance improved, exhaust smell (and inspection!) improved, and the floor of my Jeep doesn't burn my feet anymore.I found a Magnaflow Direct Fit Performance Cat from an online parts store for under $100.

Got it installed on the Jeep wrangler. The tail pipe and the muffler are working well with a good sound. A Little louder than the stock version, but not annoying. Highly recommend as Great Value for the price!

I bought this for my 1991 jeep wrangler to replace out the original one 22 years old, everything lined up and fit perfect it has a nice sound to it not to loud I'm very happy with it, definitely a great exhaust kit

sweet box

I would have given this box 5 stars but there are just a few small details that I want to point out so others may make a educated decision when shopping for these boxs. First is the condition it arrived in, the lid is slightly damaged/bent in several corners and a few small scratches that removed the finish. I could have returned it for another but they are very small and after all it is going in the bed of my truck. Second would be a few design issues, the sliding tool trey rest about half way down in the box so if u have much in the box you cant slide it for easier access to the trey or the area below it. Also the key does not want to go in, it requires a lot of "working" with it to get it in. It does seem to be getting easier to get in the more I use it. Over all this box is a quallity product, well made, perfect size and it looks great. The lid opens and shuts perfectly and seems pretty secure when its locked. FYI this box is not the one pictured it is the black lowprofile deltapro with the lips on the ends to rest on the bed top, I always check the product numbers with the manufacturers website.

Good but not perfect

I bought this manifold for my 2000 Mustang GT, because the original manifold was leaking coolant around the thermostat housing and it had started running into the spark plug wells, which of course was causing misfires. Overall, the Dorman manifold seems to be of pretty good quality, especially for the price. However, I have a couple of issues with it. First, the universal alternator bracket that comes with it does not fit well on a Mustang GT. There is a large plate that interferes with several of the hoses that stretch across the engine. Second, the holes for the screws that secure the coils over the spark plugs are plastic and are not threaded. The original manifold had threaded metal holes. The "installation instructions" were vague at best, so be sure to have another source to assist in the installation, like a Haynes manual.Now that I have the manifold installed and new spark plugs, the car is running fine and I have not seen any more leaking.

Great Quality, Great Price, and a performance increase to boot!

The stock plastic intake on my 2000 Mustang GT finally cracked right where the upper radiator hose attaches to the manifold. I needed an intake fast to get my car back on the road so I ordered the Dorman 615-175 manifold.I've read good and bad things about the Dorman VS the Ford replacement. Folks on several Mustang forums say the Dorman has smaller runners than the Ford & that the performance isn't as good. Well, I'm here to tell you the performance on a mostly stock 4.6 with the Dorman intake is noticeably BETTER than with the Ford intake!The slightly smaller runners actually increase the velocity of the incoming air which gives a very noticeable increase in performance in the low to mid RPM range with no noticeable ill effect at high RPM all the way to redline.On a car with performance camshafts & reworked heads the Dorman is probably not the best choice, but if you have the stock cams and heads you WILL feel a noticeable increase in torque. Way to go Dorman! :-)

4.6 INTAKE

Best price as new. Too much time involded to risk using anything used. Took me about 6 hours taking old intake off, and another 6 to put it on. Did it outside in the cold.Goto [...] To know what you'er getting into. It's on a 97, mine was a 2001 police Crown Vic. A little different.Biggest problem was a backside brace on driver side, bolts in from firewall, bolts go in by firewall toward front, no way to get to. Cut brace in half; had to reuse it, one of the bolts (torque # 3,) holds the intake on. And the (torque # 7,) bolt is a B%#@% just guessed with a wrench on it's torque.Other than the cold, and guessing which alternator bracket to use, I only used one, directions doesn't state one or the other, or that you use only one of the 2 provided,)it fired right up, no leaks.Hint: take close photos of every item you unhook, can save ya a lot of guessing. I didn't take everything apart. the throttle body and the intake, used a bunggy cord and held it up out of the way. EGR just unbolted from the throttle body, wasn't really in the way. Fuel rails / injectors just bend over by the fender. Great time to change your plugs. Ready to go 100,000 more miles.GOOD LUCK!
