5BREATHE BETTER AND SPEND LESS
By Jerry H. Bond
I've been running the older version of this air purifier 24 X 7 for over 10 years...maybe 12. It is backed up against a wall in a vaulted-ceiling room between a piano and organ where cats like to play. It takes up very little space and consumes a great deal of dust and hair. The exhaust blows straight up the wall which is perfect for this location. Recently, it began emitting a high-pitch, undulating squeal. I assumed that the sealed bearing on the motor shaft was wearing out. So, I ordered this new Hunter Air Purifier. In the mean time, I placed the old squeaky cleaner on its back and soaked the motor shaft with CRC Heavy Duty silicone spray while turning the shaft with my hand for 5 minutes. That was a month ago and it is still running as smoothly and quietly as new. The new cleaner is still in the box, however, I did test it to make certain that it was in good working order. How would you like to save a ton of money?Just like printer companies sell their printers at a bargain and then charge a fortune for the ink cartridges, air-cleaner manufacturers employ the same tactics with their disposable filters. Check their prices. OUCH! $30.00 to $60.00. For years I've been using the same pleated, high-efficiency filters that I use in our central heat and air system. I buy them by the case lot(12), online from ACE Hardware for $4.00 each (free shipping to store) and cut them to fit the Hunter Air Purifier. ACE runs frequent sales.SEE UPLOADED IMAGE of filter (14 1/4" X 16") cut and ready to install. Use utility scissors to cut through the wire mesh backing and border the filter with duct tape on each side to replace the cardboard that was cut away. I use 16X25 ACE Pleated filters so I have enough left over for smaller areas like return air vents in a whole-house system. UPDATE 11-4-11 SAVE EVEN MORE MONEYAt Amazon.Com's current price of $9.92 for a carbon pre filter, that's $119.16 per year for each air cleaner if you change prefilters once a month. What if you run multiple units? Two units will cost you $238.43 just for carbon prefilters for one year. 5StarFilter offers a 100' X 24.5" roll for $293.00 which will make 154 filters. That price includes FedEx home delivery. That's enough prefilters for a 6-year supply for 2 units and you pay only $1.90 for each carbon prefilter. Buying 154 prefilters one at a time will cost you $1,529.00. That's a savings of $1,236 over 6 years. All you have to do is cut off a 15 1/2 inch section. Cut that section in half lengthwise and you have 2 filters. The only downside is that some carbon particles will crumble off when cutting. Cut over newspaper or either outside. It's worth it for me.Giving out other links in reviews is often cause for rejection, so...Search: Carbon Roll Media at 5 Star FiltersOf all the air cleaners running in our home, this Hunter is the least expensive to run 24 X 7 because I can make alternative filters. This is not the case with the large barrel-shaped cleaners that circulate air 360 degrees. When the barrel-shaped air cleaners die, I replace them with these Hunter wall-huggers.When my back is against the wall, I don't go to the mall. I look for a bargain. That usually begins with Amazon.Com.

5Great Air Purifier
By Donna K. Mcclellan
I cannot believe what a great job this air purifier does. It is so quite that you forget that it is there. I have asthma and purchased this hoping it would help. At first I thought that it was not working but gradually I started feeling better and the dust (I live in a leaky old house)has gradually dissapeared from the living area. The only drawback is having to clean the filters often but that is easier than dusting ceilings!

5best air purifier ever
By Marie
I have tried many different types of air purifiers until I got one from Hunter. Initially I got one for the basement so it would not get the musty odor. I liked it so much that I got one for each room in the house. If anyone is allergic to cats, I run the purifier for an hour or two before they come over and they don't react to my cats. Smoke, cooked fish odor, burnt toast etc. These purifiers are awesome. Just be sure to vacuum the outer charcoal filter so the inner filter lasts longer. You will be amazed. I recommend the one with an ionizer-you get the fresh air after a rain smell. 5 stars for sure....

4Works for me...why so rare?
By B. Basaj
I was unable to find this type of clip binder at my local office supply store. Kind of bummed about having to pay almost as much for shipping as for the item.Anyway, I like the professional look and feel of this folder. I like the size--it holds 8.5x11 sheets securely in both the left pocket and the clip, and you can tuck them into the bottom slot when the wind blows (although a stiff wind can still pull them out).It is mostly very durable, except after over a year of ongoing use, mine has started peeling just a little at the inside of the binder. The peeled area is not sticky, and does not get in the way, so I'm not too concerned about it.The only caveat is that if you don't stuff your 8.5x11 sheets on the left hand side ALL the way down, they can get torn by the clip on the other side when the folder is closed.

5fits the bill
By histotech
This item is exactly what you need if you need a clip holder with a slot for a pocket calander and business cards, in addition to holding papers. I would prefer the shiny brass be toned down or coated black. But this item is so hard to find (Avenues no longer sells them)that when the old clipfolio had worn out, I had to replace it with the next closest thing. Got a great price, fast shipping and very pleased with it. Hope it lasts as long as the old one did.

This is an excellent item and is very hard to find elsewhere. This is the second one I've purchased as a gift and everyone loves them. It was shipped quickly and we had no problems with the seller.

5Looks absolutely Gorgeous
By W. Lee
Installation took 15 minutes, only because i'm OCD about it being exactly aligned. If you are okay with 95% accuracy and level then easily a <10 min job.The white board section feels smaller now. If i could redo it I would have gotten a slightly bigger board for my office. The Bulletin side looks better than the standard cork. Now whether or not it works and holds up as well as cork is yet to be seen. The aluminum gives the bulletin board a little more edge, though it scratches kind of easily. The optional Pen holding tray is kind of flimsy, but easily removable.Important FACT::Width is actually 35 inches with the border included, 34 inches of usable width. Height is 24 inches total, but only a little over 21 inches usable. The white board and foam bulletin board are both 17 inches wide, thus 34 inches total.

4A great computer desk, but a bit of a pain to set up
By T. Callaghan
I use this table as a desk in my home office. It really makes a great desk if you like big, pen- and coffee-proof surfaces. However, there is some pain involved beyond simply buying it. First, the table is very, very heavy. If you do not have two strong adults to move it, it *may* be more pain than it is worth. Secondly, the table requires a powered screwdriver to assemble. If you are like me and do not own one, there is the added hastle of acquiring one. However, using the powered screwdriver and assembling the table is very easy.

3Nice Table but some flaws
By Noel D
This table is nice and meets our needs but it was damaged in the shipping process. There is a small dent on one of the sides of the table, but being that this table is so heavy it was not worth the effort it would take to return it. The table is ok quality for the money, but you need a drill to install the screws as there are no designated holes for the screws. Also a rubber hammer wouldn't hurt for the bottom pieces of the legs. I had a few that were hard to fit into place and required a few knocks with the hammer to squeeze the piece into the bottom of the legs. Don't make the same mistake my boyfriend made either - read the description this table is light gray even though it looks white in some of the photos.

4Great punch for general use
By Debra Bricker
I work in a law firm and use this punch on a regular basis. I purchased this item at the end of 2010 and thus far have had no problems. The instructions say that it will punch 24 sheets of unstapled paper. I find that this is perfectly true. Luckily, it can only fit around 24 pieces in the slot for punch so I've only had the punch jam twice (when I somehow managed to get a few extra sheets in there). While not perfectly silent, it's not the loudest model I have worked with and it is minimally distracting in a work environment. Often, the sound it makes almost seems as if the punch is straining which caused some alarm the first few times I used it. I've since found that while it happens pretty regularly, there has never been any jams or problems associated with the device when this happens. There is a manual switch at the top if you wish to go from three hole punch to two hole punch. Beware that when you two hole punch, you are NOT aligning the paper with the edge of the device. Instead, there is a line painted partway down the slot to which you would align your paper. While I do not find this to be a huge problem, it does render a few tiny inconsistencies in where the holes a place due to human error. The holes for either setting are set quite close to the edge of the paper, similar to the location of holes for pre-punched paper. This is not as far in as a manual punch would make them but I find this to be of benefit as that there are more documents I can punch without taking out vital pieces of text. Also, beware punching stapled documents. This machine is easily powerful enough to go through the staples themselves, which I can imagine will prematurely dull the punches. Two times I have had the device act as if it was not working. The power switch was on, it was plugged in and I would push the button with no answering motion or sound. While I am still not certain why the problem occurs, I found that moving the punch to a more stable, flat surface would often fix the issue.Overall, I find it to be a great device. I wish it punched more papers but for the price and the flexibility, I really cannot complain.

4As expected
By Kindly
Purchased this in October 2009: It's a 2/3 electric hole puncher. It does exactly that. Just wish the holes were a tad further away from the paper edge. Also, when punching, only punch 15 or so pages, don't go to the max of 22!

4Great For Classroom Use
By Kayakblue
I have only been using this product two months, but it is a wonderful addition to my classroom. The fact that it punches up to 24 sheets of paper effortlessly and without sound or disruption to the classroom is certainly a plus. My sixth grade students love the convenience of it too!

5Great surprise!
By m t mcd
I have had the Sheraton II for a couple of years. It was in need of some basic setup and "re-humidification" after it's stay at Guitar Center. Sometimes your hear complaints about the pickups, but when they are correctly adjusted they are really quite good. The multipiece neck is quite stable and pleasantly chunky in size.Detail quality is excellent, which is why so many get this guitar when they are searching for a Gibson 335. Why spend the extra $2000? I could not find a 335 without blems and quality finish issues anyway. This guitar is not my primary guitar, but is the semi-hollow I have wanted. It is good. I have the natural finish, but the sunburst is very attractive. The tuning machines are adequate, not superb.Fretboard is excellent, inlays superb, wood is excellent.I rate this much higher than the Epi Dots I tested.

5Wonderous Instrument after Modifications!
By Dylan S Meadows
Ordered from Amazon, came very quickly.Ok, so out of the box, it needs work. As long as you understand that, then there will be no issues with what is written below. The Chinese-made Epiphone guitars are built well in the sense of the body and neck, and when I say built well I mean built very well. I observe no cosmetic flaws and the body and neck are sound. The main problem with Epiphone guitars are the cheap, shoddy components and electronics that are often installed. The pickups are bland, the harness was a veritable Rat's Nest... Tuners sucked. Honestly, people, it keeps these guitars affordable, but between you and me, its a real shame. So I took my Natural finish (beautiful, by the way) Sheraton II and gutted it. Completely. I installed all new equipment:Grover Locking Tuners (dropped right in)USA electronics (MojoTone 335 harness)Gibson USA 57 Classic/57 Classic + pickup setTo convert to USA made electronics, one must step drill the holes on the top of the guitar from 10mm to 3/8". Not a huge difference, but big enough that you can't force the components in. Its scary, yes, but easily done with proper tools and proper skills. I also switched everything to nickel/chrome finish, as I've heard bad things about the gold rubbing off. Now, having made the adjustments and modifications, this guitar sounds the way that it deserves to sound. It screams and purrs, all at the same time. I plan to put in a Bigsby B6/B60/B11 tremolo (don't know which yet) for added sustain and functionality. This guitar is an investment. Its a shame for people to leave it stock. With a few extra dollars (over time), you can transform this beautiful, elegant guitar into a cherished instrument.

5Epiphone Sheraton Review
By Josephh49
Bought my Sheraton II about 10 months ago. I went looking for a new guitar, was definitely not interested in a hollow body. The salesman at my local Sam Ash music store steered me away from a more expensive model, and talked me into trying this. Sat and played it for awhile. It wasn't what I was looking for, but it was what I realized I wanted. Finish is great, setup was great. Plays very smooth, although the strings were a little light gauge for my taste, even better play when I changed them. The best compliment that I can give this instrument is that if I had it to do all over again, I would buy it again. Highly recommended.

5How did I ever live without this?
By Casey A. Henry
Pros: Easy to use, easy to program, supports Xbox 360 out-of-the-boxCons: Some of the usual Harmony buttons are missing, small number pad takes some getting used to, ExpensiveThis is not my first Harmony remote. Even though I don't yet have a 360 (I know I'll be getting one sooner or later), I decided to go ahead and upgrade so that I could pass my older Harmony 688 on to a relative who really could use it. As soon as I heard about this remote, I knew I had to have one. As someone who is excited about the Media Center Extender abilities of the new Xbox 360 (because I've been looking for a way to hear my multiple gigabytes of mp3's and wma's through my home theater's sound system), I was thrilled to find out that I'd be able to use a Harmony remote to control the 360.I really need say only one thing about this remote (or any other Harmony remote, for that matter), and that is that once you've used this device for a week or two, you'll wonder how you ever got along without one. Sure, I've got small gripes about the Harmony 360. Because of the added Xbox 360 compatibility, some of the buttons usually present on other Harmony remotes (such as Sound, Picture, Page Up/Down, and dedicated Activity buttons) have been replaced by the YXAB buttons necessary to emulate the Xbox 360 controller's inputs. Additionally, the number pad feels as if it's been squished into the bottom of the remote; the number buttons are extremely small and very tightly packed together, and I've already inadvertently switched to the wrong channel several times. And then there's the price: $130 initially seems a bit high for a remote. However, I firmly believe--and I don't say this lightly--that this remote is worth every penny of its price tag (even without the $30 rebate for 360 owners). Ultimately, these gripes are very minor drawbacks to one of the best universal remote controllers ever. The biggest draw of the Harmony remote--and what sets it apart from the other 99% of universal remotes available today--is its simplicity. Whereas other universal remotes have a dizzying array of buttons and modes for individually controlling every component of a home theater system, the Harmony keeps things simple by operating a home theater the way it should be operated: by understanding and executing the activities that the user wishes to experience. When I want to watch DirecTV, for example, I simply press the large Activities button at the top of the Harmony remote, which then displays all of the available activities on the backlit, easy-to-read screen. I then press the button next to the option for "Watch DirecTV," at which time the remote turns on my television and switches to the Video 1 input, turns on my home theater system and switches it to the Video 1 input, and then turns on my DirecTV reciever. What's even better is that the remote's "Smart State Technology" is cognizant of the power status (on/off) and current input setting (video 1/2/3/etc) of all of my devices, so that I always get to do what I want when I press that Activity button. And even when something isn't quite right (such as having the sound system set to the wrong input, resulting in no audio--which occasionally happens), the remote's Help button guides the user through a step-by-step troubleshooting procedure that even the most technologically impaired can use, by asking questions such as "Is the stereo receiver on?" or "Is the stereo receiver set to the Video 1 input?" As soon as you press the "no" button, the remote then changes the input of the stereo receiver and asks, "Did that fix the problem?" Because of this activity-based functionality and intuitive help system, my wife can operate our fairly complex home theater system like a pro, even though she doesn't have the first clue as to how each component is connected to all of the others. For those of you who have friends and family who are "technologically challenged" (and you know that we all do), this is the perfect gift. The remote's setup couldn't be any easier, either. Programming the remote is accomplished using Logitech's web-based software and a mini-USB cable (included in the box). You simply input the brand and model number of each of the components you desire to control with the Harmony, and the software automatically configures all of the buttons and settings, in addition to suggesting which "Activities" (such as Watch TV, Play Xbox, Watch a DVD, Listen to CDs, Play Radio, etc) it can setup for you on the remote. After initial setup, the software allows you to add and remove devices, activities, and even individual button functions, so if one feature is working exactly as you'd planned you can manually "teach" the Harmony a specific command from that device's own remote and program it to a specific button. I, for instance, wanted my Harmony's "back" button to jump to the previous channel on my DirecTV receiver, so adding the new command was as simple as pointing my DirecTV remote at my Harmony, telling the web-based software to learn a new command, and then pressing the "back" button on my original DirecTV remote. Voila!THe design, styling, and fit-and-finish of the Harmony 360 remote are top-notch. Even though I prefer the TiVo-esque design and button layout of my old Harmony 688, the 360 remote is nice; and it's definitely sleeker and sexier-looking than the 688 (or just about any other Harmony remote, for that matter). It also has a nice, solid, and substantial feel to it; it doesn't feel as if it's simply made of flimsy, brittle plastics. Bottom line: if you're home theater setup includes more than just a television and an Xbox 360, then go buy this remote now. If you don't have an Xbox 360 but your home theater has more than one or two components, then go buy this or any other Harmony remote now. Truly, the greatest products and technologies are those that are so successful that we can't imagine how we ever got along without them (the Web, anyone?), and this remote definitely falls into this category.

5Finally - A Universal Remote that is Universal
By C. Murphy
This thing rocks!I do not have a X-Box 360 yet, but I bought this in anticipation of getting the new X-Box. Really what makes this an X-Box remote is a pre-configured profile for X-Box and the Y X A B buttons (like on the controller). What you get with this is an impossible to open (like all things in plastic these days) package - but in that package is a software CD, a set of 4 AAA batteries, a USB cable, and the remote. The remote has 4 AAA batteries installed, but these MUST be replaced by the inlcuded extra batteries. It won't work otherwise. The remote is configured online using a very extensive database. The remote works by creating "profiles." For example, when setting up the remote, there are already templates ready to go: Watch TV, Watch DVD, Listen to Radio, Play X-Box, Play CD's, and Watch VCR. You tell the software what you have (you will need your model numbers) and asks how your setup works. When all is ready, the Watch TV action does the following (for me anyway): Turns on the TV, turns on cable box, sets the TV inputs and I am ready to go. For DVD: Turns on TV, turns on receiver, turns on DVD, sets TV inputs, sets receiver to DVD.How cool is that. The difficulty was my TV. I had to do some tweaking in the setup - learing new commands and re-assigning keys - mostly because their database did not have the correct commands for my remote. What remotes are not in the database can be easily learned, and you can completely re-configure the "profiles" as you wish.It takes some time to set up but it is well worth it. I have no need for any of my other remotes: TV, Cable, VCR, Receiver, DVD, Media Center, and CD.This is truly a Universal remote!

5Life is so uncluttered and simple now
By A. C. Ege/Acedoh
I just bought this remote and I can't get over how simple life is now. Let me get rid of all those remotes hanging around. With a touch of a button I can have my 360 on and running perfectly. The same with all my other units. I couldn't get over how simple the program makes this remote to set up. Well worth the price.
