Product Description

AEM pioneered the Cold Air induction system for sport compact cars in 1994. A Cold Air intake system relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver the coolest air inlet temperatures possible. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horsepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and this tuning allows us to deliver the maximum power gains throughout the entire RPM range. We also monitor fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during R&D to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light. Part stresses intake hose to the point of failure.

I have had this intake system installed for about a year now. The angle of the hard pipe causes a stress on the OEM rubber intake hose that feeds into the engine. This stress has caused the rubber hose to rip on the side where it was stretched out.I will keep this CAI installed though because I enjoy the induction sound it creates at low RPM. An aftermarket hose exists that is over half the price of the OEM part. Just keep an eye out for this when ever your looking over the engine.

Fantastic!

This CAI is fantastic. It fit perfectly and installed in less than 1 hour. Ive noticed a slight increase in power, nothing to jump up and down about. Its more of an even power over from the low RPM's to the high RPM's. Im on my first tank of gas with it now but I am expecting a MPG gain of around 3-5 MPG.

True claims! Real improvement!

I had one of these on my 89 civic Si a few years back, and switched for a short ram intake for fear of water being sucked into my engine( this was before the bypass valve). My car has all the bolt ons available (intake, custom bored throttle, headers, exhaust, ecu, lightened flywheel, and stage 2 clutch, etc) and this intake really, really brought the car to life. I especially felt more power in the low, and mid-range rpm's (where it matters most in the real world). I live in stormy south Florida, so my next purchase will be the bypass valve in case I run through a dep puddle.

Van louvre

Installed the van louvre's this weekend on my 99 Ford van and they fit perfect. The price was great compared to other places I looked at the same identical product. Installation was not bad but you have to be sure the mounting clips are in the correct position, once they touch the glass they definatly do stick. The items were shipped very quickly and well packaged.

Fantastic for my 08 Charger
