This Hidden Hitch Class IV Hitch has a 2 square receiver opening with capacity up to 5,000 pounds Weight Carrying system (WC) and up to 8,000 pounds Weight Distributing system (WD). These products have been specifically designed to distribute towing weight into your vehicle's chassis. It has a finish which is corrosion resistant powder coat polyester black paint. Perfect fit, very solid

Fits like a glove on the Explorer. Is specially made for the Explorer with a 1.25" Class II factory hitch.....this 2" Class III hitch mounts right underneath the OEM hitch and anchors (with a bolt) into the OEM receiver. Total of 7 bolts holds this baby very solidly (3 bolts on each side of the frame, plus the bolt through the OEM receiver). Two of the bolts install vertically within the frame and are a little tricky to place before tightening, but it worked fine with a little patience. Installed in about an hour without rushing, and going over everything to make sure I had it figured out.

This rating and review is based on first impressions only... I haven't used it yet, only installed it. I was apprehensive about this installation, thinking it might not fit exactly right and require some ingenuity/creativity to get it on my vehicle. Actually it seems to fit perfectly and installation took less than 30 minutes. The pull-wire is absolute genius and a huge time-saver. So far so good. If actually using this receiver hitch is anything less than acceptable I'll report back.
