Beautiful, there's just one big problem

I was thrilled to find these lamps (I purchased 2) at such a reasonable price. They were delivered as promised and I was anxious to unpack them and display them in our newly remodeled master bedroom. Imagine my surprise when I went to plug the first one in, only to find it has a Europen plug. This lamp runs off 220 volts and cannot be plugged into a standard American 110 volt outlet. These lamps are beautiful, exactly what I wanted, but now I'm faced with a decision; either return them, find a converter to run them off, or remove the lampshades and put them on another stand. I order from Amazon on a regular basis and am very disapointed that this was not mentioned anywhere in the product description.

Absolutely gorgeous, high quality lamp!!!! LOVE IT!

I cannot express how happy I am with this lamp; its bigger than it appears in the picture and very heavy high quality. When you turn the lamp on the reflection of the glass is absolutely gorgeous. I am buying a similiar floor lamp very soon. For the price, I was shocked at how great of a value and what great quality I received!!!!!

The shade is made of plastic, not glass!

My wife and I were quite happy when we ordered this lamp. The photos looked beautiful and it was exactly what we were looking for. However, the problems started with the unpacking: the lampshade was coated in a oily feeling substance that made the lamp feel greasy. Second, the shade is not, as directly advertised, made out of glass. The pieces are clearly made out of plastic and when the lamp is turned off, have an ugly and dark look. I have to admit that the lamp is beautiful when turned on at night, but it is not attractive the rest of the day. This is clearly false advertising.
