Delphi FG0027 Fuel Pump Module Product Description:

  • Restores fast-pressure performance and system integrity, translating to better pumping through less energy
  • Increased durability and enhanced stability due to internal springs preventing fuel tube chafing and possible loss of fuel flow and pressure
  • Better security and durability with multiple redundant buttons on the fuel level sensor versus bent fingers which can undergo premature wear, and reduced contact
  • Longer pump life as a result of a two-strainer system keeping out contaminants
  • Lower failure rates due to design that is maximized to operate under extreme temperatures and to avoid low-fuel hesitation

Product Description

As a leading OE supplier to the automotive industry, Delphi holds more than 30 OE-proprietary innovations and 150 patents in fuel module and pump design. As a result, our fuel pumps restore fast-pressure performance and system integrity to provide better pumping through less energy. Delphi fuel pumps feature internal springs for increased durability and enhanced stability, while a lower amperage draw places less load on a vehicle’s electrical system. Our fuel pumps include a large volume reservoir to better handle low-fuel situations and vehicle cornering, as well as fuel-level, gold-filled sensors for improved corrosion resistance. Other benefits of our fuel pumps include consistent pump flow, an enhanced filtration system for longer pump life and an OE-service body harness and connector for superior performance, durability and ease of installation.

4Working perfect for almost a year now
By B. Robinson
Sorry that it took so long for me to leave my thoughts on this item, but using it for almost a year may make this review a bit more informative as it also gives an idea of whether or not this item has good longevity. BTW, it does. I read some pretty angry reviews of the cheap fuel pumps from the local auto parts stores so I knew that I wanted a good quality name brand product, but when I saw how cheap I could get the name brand for on Amazon I was shocked - so shocked that I was wondering whether or not it was indeed too good to be true. Well, it fit my 2.2L 1996 Chevrolet S-10 and has been going strong for almost a year now. BTW, if you are replacing a fuel pump on an S-10, or any pickup truck, save yourself some pain and just remove the truck bed to do this replacement job. Nothing like having the top of the fuel tank unobstructed and open! And no need to drop the tank (only if this is a pickup truck that you are working on).Any way, this is a direct replacement, except that the electrical connector needs to be replaced (wires cut, splice in the new connector). The butt-connectors that they give you with this pump are very good quality and are covered in heat-shrink material that you will need to use a heat source to shrink down once the wires are correctly spliced and crimped. I used a pen torch, which is a little crazy to use right over the top of a 3/4 full fuel tank. :-) You can also use a heat gun or just a normal cigarette lighter, but be sure the pump is seated first and all spilled fuel is wiped up and evaporated away.Speaking of the tank, the O-ring that seals the pump top to the tank is VERY hard to seat, but just take your time and apply fairly even constant pressure and it should eventually seat on down. Just be sure not to damage the pump housing in the process of pressing it down into place. Another thing to be careful about is the three lines that attach to the top of the pump. Label each one and DO NOT LOOSE THE PLASTIC CLIPS THAT GO INSIDE TO LOCK THEM IN PLACE.If this is your first time doing this type of replacement then watch a couple of YouTube videos on doing it. There is even one showing how to leave the rear two truck bed bolts loose but still in place and raising the bed like a dump truck.Last thought, be sure to replace the fuel filter if it has been a while since it has been replaced. Many times this it the reason for the pump going out as it has been pumping against severe restriction. This was a fairly difficult job, but my cost was very low thanks to Amazon and I know it was done right since I am the one who did it!
