Quiet but Otherwise Solid Exhaust

I picked up this kit to more closely replicate the sound of the Charger SRT on my RT, and to get the performance gains from opening up its breathing. RTs have a quiet stock exhaust system, a tiny growl at ignition and that's it. I didn't want to go with the more aggressive Borla system (140125) because I didn't want to be obnoxiously loud and I didn't like the 5" tips.While this kit did add some bite to the throttle, its not much louder than stock. You can hear a low burble when standing behind the car, and you get a pleasant but still relatively quiet sound off when you get on the accelerator. The sound level is roughly comparable to the noise generated by a short ram air intake. The 125 kit is most likely closer to where I wanted to be sound-wise.The exhaust tips do look great - its not obvious from the pictures, but they are oval shaped. They're nicely polished, and even the visible part inside the tip looks good. They hang nicely below the bumper and don't stick out too far. Contrary to what I'd read in some other reviews, they both stick out evenly when looking down on them from the top.I had a professional perform the removal of the stock system and installation of the Borla, which they did in a couple hours. They had no complaints about the fit, and no rattles or droning have been evident. It also didn't interfere with a trailer hitch. One tip - if you want your stock exhaust, bring a truck or a van . . . its long!While I haven't dyno'ed the car, there does seem to be a perceptible bite in the throttle since the exhaust has been installed. Nothing major, but a gain nonetheless - especially in low RPM ranges. I've not seen any change in gas mileage.Bottom line with this kit is that its a great system if you want to open up your car's breathing without major sound level gains. If you want loud, this is not the kit for you!
