B&M's Precision Sport Shifter offers a dramatic improvement in shifting performance, due in large part to the reduction in the stick's travel (or 'throw'). Using their decades of experience, superior designs, and extremely durable components, B&M re-engineered the stick and its pivot point for better leverage and to reduce the distance that the knob end must travel to engage the gears. The result is a short throw shifter that should provide smooth, precise shifts for hundreds of thousands of miles, with less driver fatigue and a more professional feel. The shifter is CAD-designed and engineered as a direct bolt-in replacement, so it can be installed easily in about an hour, and function properly with the factory boot, insulation, and console surround. Does what it says, short throw.

I installed this on my 2002 wranger TJ. Sad to say but the throw being way too far forward. Ended up hitting my knuckles time again on the dash. Shifting was very rigid compared to the stock shifter. I ended up pulling it out and putting the stocks shifter back. I have to say that with the stock shifter the NV 3550 is smooth as can be. 10 stars to Amazon as they took my return back and provided me a full refund. You cannot beat Amazon for outstanding customer service. I use them regularly. Returns are painless. GREAT JOB AMAZON. Keep it up.

Simple and heavy duty.

I must say, I was expecting this from B&M's reputation. This shifter can't get much more straight-forward. Just a single steel shaft on an anodized steel base and smooth bushing. I guess the only flaw I can find is that it doesn't have the provisions that the factory shifter does of lessening driveline vibrations transmitting to the hand. But that only goes with the territory of having such a smooth-acting shifter with such sharp positive engagement. Any issues beyond the shifter are easily detected, not covered up by the factory piece to make lesser individuals buying a product for comfort feel a little better about their purchase. It's a Jeep...it's not supposed to be comfortable. This is an excellent product.
