We looked at a 5" Carr hoop step at a truck product store; what they had was a much smaller hoop step. This pair of tubular aluminum steps have 10" long steps with a 'step' almost as wide as my boot. You can step on it sideways, unlike the regular Carr steps which are used like a step ladder step.The #120251 steps do not have the brackets with several 'position' holes, as most pictures show. but they are heavy zinc plated steel brackets specifically made for bolting to the 'foor pan' of the rocker panel. The instructions recommend caulking the holes, which I was going to do anyhow. The hardware is #5 hardness zinc plated steel.You may not like the fact that the 1/4" thich rectangular 'washers' are exposed on the top of the rocker panel when the doors are open. If you have an expensive pickup, you may decide that that part is somewhat crude. For our old 'splicer' bucket truck they are just fine. A 200 pound lineman can step hard on these steps and not bend the sheet metal. I primed and painted them white to match the truck.
