Product Description
This 2.5" OD Y-pipe joins the right and left header in a smooth transition to the exhaust system. This Y-pipe replaces the restrictive factory catalytic converter. Designed to fit 1982 - 1992 Camaro with 265-400 engine. Y-pipe creates better clearance for the idler arm and the collector is positioned in the original location.

HOOKER HEADER EXHAUST Y-PIPE 16767HKR

MY INSTALLATION OF THIS Y-PIPE ON MY 83 TRANS-AM WITH HOOKER HEADERS 2460HKR WAS SIMPLE EXCEPT FOR HAVING TO NOTCH THE GEAR REDUCED STARTER BASE. THE FLANGE INTERFERRED WITH THIS BUT I SEE NO OTHER WAY THEY COULD HAVE DESIGNED FOR THIS SINCE THE BEND NEEDED TO BE UP AS FAR AS POSSIBLE FOR GROUND CLEARANCE. ONCE THAT WAS DONE IT FIT LIKE A GLOVE BACK TO REMAINDER OF EXHAUST. MY CAR IS AN "H" CODE IF THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE BUT NOW HAS A 406 SBC W/700R4 TRANS. A BIT PRICY BUT HAVE YOU BEEN TO A MUFFLER SHOP LATELY - OUTRAGIOUS!
