Product Description
The Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold is manufactured from aluminum and given a natural finish. They feature a patented runner design and have an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) provision. This boosts the torque and horsepower over a wide RPM range, from off-idle to 5,500 RPM. This Performer Series intake is for 4-barrel carburetors and it has a spread bore flange. They accept late-model choke, water neck, alternator, and air conditioning brackets and HEI (High Energy Ignition) system.

It's Better Than The Stock Intake Manifold

The engineers did their homework well designing the #3701 intake manifold for the small block chevy. This intake manifold offers plenty of performance as compared to the stock cast aluminum intake manifold. Once installed, there is a big difference the way the stock turbo hydramatic 200R4 shifts; nice and crisp. Imagine what a shift kit will do. And, since I have a California Smog Compliance equipped 305 cu in, the stock rebuilt Rochester Quadrajet M4ME works well with this setup. In addition, after installing this aftermarket intake manifold, it seems to produce a lot more vaccuum as compared to what I had before. All in all, you get what you paid for and this intake manifold is no exception.
