A good looking deflector, one installation ceveat

I really like the looks of this deflector shield on our 2002 Sequoia. It fits closely, but not so close that you can't get under it when washing the hood. Installation is reasonably easy, with a couple of tricks and one caveat I'll explain. Here's what I did. Temporarily attach the little hood lip brackets to the shield. Then attach the shield to the grill insert per the instructions, taking care to tighten the screws just past finger tight. As warned in other reviews, over tightening even a little will warp your plastic grill insert. Now, mark the location where the outer brackets meet the hood lip, but don't push them onto the lip yet. Remove the shield, and install the protective tape using the marks you made to locate it. Now re-install the shield and your hood lip brackets will align perfectly with the protective tape. BTW, the tape used in the kit is a high quality 3M product that will hold up. Now the caveat - the ends of the shield curve back to follow the fender line. But on mine, they were curved too much and touched the paint. I used a heat gun to heat the plastic in that area. Then I applied pressure to un-curve it a little and held it like that as it cooled. That opened up the needed clearance. If you are uncomfortable doing that, another brand might be a better choice.That's why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5.

This hood shield was a little bit harder to install than I thought it would be, but after getting it installed it looks good. i hope it lasts for a good long time.

The order shipped quickly. The instructions, while fairly simple, were weak. The deflector mounted on my 2001 Tundra easily in about 1/2 hour with just a ratchet wrench and phillips screwdriver with no need for a second person to assist. It fits well and looks good. It is contoured nicely to the hood and extends over the parking lights on the fender without obstructing them. I installed it last evening, and this morning on the way to work, traveling at 60-65 mph, I got no flapping or movement at all. Time will tell how well it holds up, but it definitely mounts securely (the entire top of the grill holds it in place). The only advice I have is to be VERY careful when you mount the adhesive protector strips and the clips to the hood. I dry-fitted both once the deflector was mounted in the grill and they seemed to be lined up with the holes in the deflector, but I still had to tap the clips in toward the center to align them with the holes to secure the outer screws. No big deal, and hopefully this advice will keep it from happening to the next buyer.EGR 304691 SuperGuard Smoke Hood Shield
