S&B's 2004-2005 cold air intake kit for the Ford F-150 V8 4.6L engine will give you that extra air flow you've been looking for. Great product but....

This was a fantastic buy for my truck. For the longest I was debating on the K&N intake, until I found this one and instantly wanted it mainly because of the box. I do some offroading, not much, in my truck and wanted something to protect the cone from rocks, debris, and dust. This has done a fantastic job so far. I will say make sure you do not throw away any pieces of your old assembly when you remove it, it will need to mate up to the housing on this. I learned the hard way and had to reorder a part. You can rig it to work without it, but you'll definitely want the stock parts to mate back up to this properly as I said. The intake tube itself is plastic, a hard and tough plastic, but it is nonetheless. I was hoping for a stainless steel or other metal that would stay cool and look good as well. So far I've had this on my truck roughly 6 or so months now and I haven't had a single problem with it. I take the cone off and clean it with water and let it dry for a while, and it works just fine. The intake tube is still holding strong, no signs of breakage, wear or tear or that the engine heat itself is affecting it in the least.This is a good deal for a good product, if you are on the fence about this I'd say check it out, unless you want to hold out to save up for one of the more expensive ones that will essentially do the same thing.
