5great amp, great price
By dr. cliff
Don't let people fool you into thinking you need a thousand watts of amp pushing 4 giant subs for your home theater. My living room is 12x18 feet. The sub is a single Polk CSW100, built into the wall. This little BASH amp is built into the wall of the A/V closet, out of the way and very neat looking. These amps produce much less heat than traditional designs so you can just flush-mount one right in your wall! After all, they're designed to mount in an enclosure and sink their heat to the outside (the front of the amp).Anyway, my setup sounds fantastic. There is a nice 'feel' watching TV and most movies, and if I toss in an action movie or a Metallica CD, I can rattle the whole house with clear, thunderous bass. Honestly, the bass becomes overwhelming and actually annoying long before I can hear any distortion.I give this amp a hearty endorsement for the performance, price, and clean installation.

4Whole Lot of Shakin' Goin' On
By Mark Colan
Most people buy this to power an actual subwoofer. Instead, I used it to power a Clark Synthesis TST209 Tactile Transducer. Both are built into the underside of my couch, for the purpose of adding a physical sensation (shaking) to the experience of watching movies, listening to music, and playing video games. As such, I cannot comment on the sound quality. I suspect an amp with a lot of distortion would work as well for my purpose. Still, this amplifier has two very useful features for my application.1. Crossover frequency adjustment. I have it set very low, because otherwise the shaking would happen frequently, and the novelty would wear off.2. Level control. This is handy for adjusting the amount of shaking relative to the volume level on the amp.I originally ordered a 70 watt subwoofer amplifier from Parts Express. They suggested getting more power - the manual for the Transducer said 100 to 150 watts. 300 watts is more than I really need, but it was on sale, and too much is better than too little.Bottom line: I'm quite satisified with the purchase, and how this amplifier works with the tactile transducer.

5excellent amp!
By E in Texas
I bought an Athena brand home theater subwoofer a few years back and it sounded great, BUT that particular subwoofer had been manufactured with an amplifier that had some issues with dying early. Of course mine bit the dust.I replaced it with this amp and couldn't be happier. This amp sounds good and clean at least for my application. I like the standby option so I don't have to mess with it at all. It made my subwoofer sing again!
