Product Description
AEM pioneered the Cold Air induction system for sport compact cars in 1994. A Cold Air intake system relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver the coolest air inlet temperatures possible. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horsepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and this tuning allows us to deliver the maximum power gains throughout the entire RPM range. We also monitor fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during R&D to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light. First cold air intake

Just got this yesterday and installed it last night on my 2000 Sunfire. I was a little skeptical about ordering because last time I ordered the short ram from AEM and it ended up not fitting correctly so all that work went to waste. However because of the great price Amazon had on this compared to Jegs I just had to jump on it especially with my nice tax return I got back. So I didn't think installation would be difficult but I was kind of wrong. Unlike the previous AEM system I ordered this one came with instructions and they were pretty well layed out and detailed and looking through it I saw there was alot of work to be done but not difficult tasks. Remove battery, jack car up, remove stock air system, remove windshield washer reservoir(which I didn't put back), remove wheel well cover, etc. My buddy was over to help but even so this turned into an almost two hour project. I'm sure it could have been completed alot quicker but we barely knew what we were doing. After install I didn't quite know what to expect on power and sound and was surprised at how loud and powerful of noise this thing makes when you hit the gas. Also definite noticeable difference in power. Not crazy, off the walls change but noticeable. I also noticed a dramatic change in lower engine temp. All in all good investment. I think this is well worth the Amazon price over Jegs and other prices. Also if your interested this came with an AEM, engineered to outperform, license plate frame and two decals.
