Good step hitch, but it the fit could be tighter

This Go Rhino Chrome Hitch Step looks great and has a solid construction but I wish that it employed a different mechanism that made it fit better. The positive is that it is the longest 'bumper' hitch step that I was able to fine. The chrome is great because it serves the purpose that I bought it for...having a smaller bumper between me and the people who like to drive too close.On the downside, it's not the greatest step. It's difficult to describe but to tighten this step hitch, you must screw in a bolt underneath that clamps a curved metal plate (half 'j') onto the bottom of your hub. Don't get me wrong, the hitch is securely fastened with a pin that goes through a hole on the side, this mechanism is to keep it from vibrating within the hub while you are riding. While this mechanism (bolt/curved metal plate) prevents the hitch from vibrating within the hub while going down the road, it's not tight enough to stop it from shifting when you use it for it's intended purpose as a step. For the price of this hitch stand, I expected a better fit. For example, I have two bike racks and a normal towing ball hitch that fit in the hub much more snuggly, than this hitch step. Rhino could have easily solved this problem by using a threaded bolt like my two bike racks or adding a plastic wrap around shim.On the positive side, having an additional chrome bumper does keep people from tailgaiting so closely. Perhaps they know that if you come to a abrupt stop, then they will be hitting your hitch step long before your bumper, thus you have much less to lose than they do. For that reason, I gave it 4 stars. As a step, I would only give it 2 stars. If you are purchasing this as a step, then you should probably try to find another step hitch with a tighter fit.

This product gives my truck that little bit extra clean look. Simple love it. The only thing I really wasn't satisfied with is that they give you the anti radle connection, which does work a little. I have it has tight as I can get it but it still seems to move around alot.

The product is great and fits nicely with all of the chrome I got on my H2 Hummer. It will interfere with the H2's towing hooks though, but again I don't use those hooks for towing purposes. I am a bit disappointed though from Amazon. I've been using Amazon for the last 7 years and they are great. But for this purchase it was supposed to be a NEW product when I bought it but apparently they sent me a used "returned" item. The product's box was all messed up when I got it and it was missing the locking hitch pin as well. Fortunately I had ordered a key locking pin as well so I didn't bother the missing pin that didn't come with the product.
