Easy install, performance boost but louder than I expected

My cat went bad so I ordered a new one (Magnaflow 22628 direct fit) and was planning to install it with the exhaust that had been installed by a muffler shop a year prior. However, the mid pipe rusted through and disconnected from the flange that connected to the cat. Ironically, this occurred as I was driving to my uncle's place where I was to replace the cat. Since this was the 3rd, yes 3rd, mid pipe I replaced in the 3 years I owned the car ('98 Civic EX 4-dr), I decided to get this Magnaflow cat back exhaust and have no regrets. I rented a bay at a DIY garage and installed the whole system in less than an hour. My only grip (and its only when I'm driving in my neighborhood - I'm 39 y.o. father of 3 living in suburbia) is that its loud when you have to give it gas particularly for hills and such. But... the sound translates into performance. I added a K&N air filter and swear the two have easily added another 15-20 horses. And the VTEC kick and sound is unbelievable (just bring your earplugs). Also, passed emissions without issue. Enjoy!

Didn't fit my 97 civic DX, until muffler

Amazon said it fits my civic Trim DX, though it said for sedan/coupe i thought that since it listed my trim as fitting it would work.the test pipe, resonator and "S" pipe fits perfectly underneath the car, but the muffler sticks out too far and can't bolt on, so i ordered the 15643 and i think the muffler will fit on good.its all hooked up to my stock muffler and it actually sounds pretty nice, throaty rumble sound.Call the magnaflow tech support number to be positive it fits your vehicle before ordering.

This item performs exactly as stated. The delivery was fast delivery too. If you're thinking about it I highly reccommend this product.Not only do you get nice sports sound to your vehicle without it being TOO loud, but your performance kicks up as well.And it looks good in Stainless Steel- a nice logo right on the exhaust tip.
