Low dust EBC Redstuff is a superb pad for fast street use and targets high HP imports, muscle cars and prestige european cars. EBC Redstuff ceramic pads reduce dust emitted by OEM pads by approx 80 percent. Redstuff pads also reduce rotor wear so that rotors and pads last longer whilst delivering great brake performance. For optimum lifetime in track use EBC still recommend drivers to upgrade to their Yellowstuff or even the new Bluestuff range but if fast street is what you need, EBC Redstuff Ceramic is the pad to choose.

Very low dust pad

I have had this on my Cooper for seven months, it has been excellent in my experience. A few observations:* I have heard comments about noise, in my case, I put in a set of new rotors, and followed the break-in instruction from EBC for the first few hundred miles. Now I have a very even grab pattern on the rotor, there is no noise even in low temperature (20F). In fact, other than one squeak during the first 30 miles, the brake is as quiet as the factory pads.* I have also heard reduced braking power in low temperature. Again, I had no problem even at 20F, perhaps I have to wait for it to get colder. No perceptible difference from factory pads.* Brake dust is dramatically less, perhaps 1/8 of the factory pad. Now, no scrubbing is needed, my power washer can completely blast the rims clean. I now only need to clean it once a month, the dust is gray rather than black, which also helps to demand less cleaning.* When my mechanic installed the pad, he was very adamant to replace the rotor, which turns out to be a great move. As refinishing my old rotor might not have yielded the even wear pattern. I asked him if Red Stuff would be an overkill over Green Stuff. He said he sees the Green Stuff most often (it is a shop specializing in MINI), the Red Stuff is less frequent, but they have had good results with both. He said as long as I am not getting the YellowStuff for street use, then I should be OK.Very happy with the purchase.
