Product Description
AEM pioneered the Cold Air induction system for sport compact cars in 1994. A Cold Air intake system relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver the coolest air inlet temperatures possible. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horsepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and this tuning allows us to deliver the maximum power gains throughout the entire RPM range. We also monitor fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during R&D to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light. Power Increase and Better Diesel MPGs

We bought this item two months ago for our 03 TDI and immediately noticed the increased in power and savings on diesel. To be specific, driving from California to Texas:Before the AEM Cold Air Intake driving through the different MPH changes, the MPG were at 44. After the intake, MPG increased to 48+. You notice the difference in power when passing and going up-hill. Great product for the TDI turbo to breath like it should.

Seems like it made my Jetta sound more beefy. I'm about to figure my MPG next just to see if it saves gas. Instructions weren't the greatest so I threw them away. Kept instructions long enough to determine the parts I needed. Install was perfect!
