5Actually quiets my cheap exhaust on my truck! Better item than photo!
By Gavin L
A little background on why i bought this:I have a 2001 Toyota 4Runner Sport with the TRD supercharger, smaller pulley (9psi), 7th fuel injector kit... headers, and a full cat back exhaust (too much stuff to list, but you get the idea)The headers are stainless steel, Doug Thorley... and were expensive as all heck.I have a magnaflow high flow cat, which is nice as well...But, admittedly, i cheaped out on the Cat Back...I figured, i would save money and skip out on the stainless TRD catback which was very very pricey, and go with a no name brand...well, it picked up some horsepower as it flows better than stock, but the exhaust note was loud, and unrefined... it left a lot to be desired...The tip that came on this cheaper exhaust was in fact resonated... but... after only 2 years, the inside of the cheap tip rusted out, and it lost it's resonating ability...it really made the sound get louder, to the point that i was pulled over! I got away without a ticket by pleading ignorance... but... That was all it took to get me looking into things. The headers and cat were fine, and all connection points... and while cheap system had started to show signs of rust, after only about 2 years, but it wasn't leaking anywhere else in the system... just the cheap resonated tip had failed, and caused the sound to get loud enough for a cop to notice...so, after some research... I picked this Pace Setter Monza because it was on the cheaper side of the scale for something weldable, however is still a name brand which i trust... having owned a Monza quad pipe exhaust system on an 1979 VW bus back in the day and having good luck with it.I got the tip today, cut the old tip off. and clamped the new one on... and it made an IMMEDIATE difference in the sound! It's actually got a nice tone to it now and makes up for the cheap muffler i have with the cheap cat back. I'm not saying it made my cheap exhaust sound like the TRD system would sound like... It's not working any miracles back there, but... it quieted things down a lot! Very pleased with that! Also let me point out that the item in the photo here is not the item you get...Monza has three types of single outlet tips.. 2 inch, 2-1/4 inch. and this 2-1/2 inch....they are all listed as 16.5 inches in length....if you go to pace setters website and look them up, you see this 2-1/2 inch one only has a small amount of black pipe on the end of it, maybe 1/4 of it is black, and the rest is chrome resonator tip... as opposed to this photo here which is actually the 2-1/4 tip... where about 50% of it is non resonating...so... keep this in mind... (I POSTED A PHOTO OF THE ACTUAL 2-1/2" ADAPTER ON HERE)I do plan on welding it on now that i know it's good. for those who have 2-1/4 inch pipe who might be reading this... if you plan on welding, go with the 2-1/2 inch tip and make it work somehow... it's worth it if you need the extra 3-4 inches of resonating.Anyways, I couldn't be happier! It looks great! Sounds Great! Fast shipping through prime... 5 stars

5Peace & Quite
By R. Matthews
Great little add on to a noisy exhaust and adds the finishing touch to my custom Magnaflow exhaust. Melllows out the drone at highway speeds but does not effect free flowing of the exhaust. Excellent quality built of heavy gauge steel and chrome plated to last. I'm sure it will out last the other components of the exhaust. True to stated size and fits perfect with a clamp. Now that I know it does it's job it will get welded on. A great product that is actually "Made in America"!! Thank you Amazon for the excellent service and super fast delivery.
